PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed concern over a series of bad events currently happening in the world. He raised the question of whether there could be a nuclear war if there were such daily warnings of the fact.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 'Cambodia Vision 2022' conference on Thursday morning, 6 October, the Cambodian Prime Minister said, "The firing of missiles from North Korea over Japan is not a joke. If they wanted to shoot Tokyo or any part of Japan, they could do it because [the missiles] crossed over the whole country."

The Prime Minister stressed the severity of being able to shoot missiles over an entire country, which is markedly different from firing test missiles across the sea. He emphasized that North Korea's actions are a major threat to regional security.

He also expressed continued concern about the world still facing the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, which has led to rising fuel prices and inflationary pressures, and the increasing instances of freak weather and natural disasters.
